A little bit about Judy

Print, stitch and mixed media – using the skills I’ve learned over my many years I simply love to create. I’m inspired by my surroundings especially nature – plants and birds but especially the East Neuk of Fife, here the colours and textures are wonderful. I’m currently in my final year of studying at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee for  my honours degree in Textile Design.  In April 2012 I was awarded 1st place in the UK final of The Society of Dyers and Colourists’ International Competition and in December 2012 represented the UK and was chosen as winner of the  Grand Final of the Society of Dyers and Colourists’  International Design Competition at a prestigious awards evening held in Hong Kong.

Prior to my degree studies I studied Textile Art at Dundee College and have been very fortunate to be taught by amazing tutors.  In 2009 I was awarded a City and Guilds Medal for Excellence Highly Commended Certificate and the Iain Macmillan Memorial Prize and in 2010 was awarded the Dyer Trade Award.
It’s an exciting time as I prepare for my degree show, hope you enjoy looking at my design work and if you’re in Dundee in May come and  say hello at my degree show.
